My Favorite Designer Sashays to Wall Street
Who knew? One of my Purseonal Success Plan members mentioned that Project Runway favorite Judge Michael Kors company’s stock debuted on Wall Street yesterday. Her question was, “Should I buy the stock.” My answer, “It depends. The first thing you need to do before you purchase a stock is to crunch the numbers and that means doing research to determine if the companies future is as bright as the people who purchased the Initial Public Offering believe it is.”
Doing stock research is not as difficult as you may think and because of the Internet you can determine whether to buy a stock simply by plugging in the numbers. One of the tools that I share with investment clubs is the Online Stock Selection Guide that is located on the National Association of Investors Corporation website http://betterinvesting.org. Another approach that I share in my workshop is the Nasdaq Dozen which was developed by the exchange of the same name and is located on their website. Both of these tools allow you to assess the current financial condition of a company and to determine if the stock’s future prospects are good. The point I am trying to make is that before you make an investment do a little homework because the stock exchange doesn’t have a no return policy but there is no guarantee you will get a return of your investment.
